The Patuone Pathway runs from near central Takapuna through to the bottom of Barrys Point road. The pathway consists of a combination of concrete paths, boardwalks and bridge structures. In all, a combined length of 1085m.
The bridges and boardwalks cross a mixture of terrains; one section in an ancient forest, the boardwalk constructed up high in the tree tops, another across a reed covered swamp and a further section, over a 170m long, across coastal foreshore mangroves.
The bridges and boardwalks all have the R-Grip anti-slip product applied; which has now withstood the environmental conditions for 18 months without any observable deterioration.
Of particular interest, this project demonstrates the use of R-Grip anti-slip in an insitu application.
